Case studies

Transforming extensive datasets into actionable insights is vital for business success. A&M can assist your team in navigating and deciphering complex data sets using SQL, Python, R and Tableau.  The case studies below outline the type of projects undertaken.

Dashboards

Tableau dashboards are a great way of processing large quantities of data and illustrating it using charts and maps.  Reports can be refreshed in real time, giving management swift access to operational data.  This dashboard analyses the sales of an international retailer, split by geography, category and marketing channel.

Large datasets

Excel is not the best tool for descriptive analytics of very large datasets.  This is better suited to Python, which is able to load such datasets into 'Pandas' tables that provide similar presentation capabilities to spreadsheets, whilst offering much greater processing power.

Predictive analytics

Predictive analytics uses models such as binary logistic regression and random forest to make predictions about an outcome based upon a set of determinant variables.

The accuracy of the model can be illustrated using an 'area under the curve' graph, which shows the ratio of true positives to false positives for the model's predictions.
